Trains / RENFE
Looking at trains out there for late October / early November, it seems a lot of trains are already booked out.
What is happening ?
I do realise there is some kind of free travel out there, but I assume it is for workers, not tourists. Can't believe people are jumping on trains at that time of year travelling all over the place !

Re: Trains / RENFE
I think the free travel is for the local trains. I've just been to Sevilla by train from Malaga and booked as soon as they came available online. The outward one got busier as it did a couple of stops, but the homeward bound one was packed full at Seville. When I arrived back at Maria Zambrano the station was very busy. I did travel Monday and Friday which perhaps are busier. Usually we travel midweek which tends to be a bit quieter.

Late October to early November? Could it be the bank holiday and puente?

Re: Trains / RENFE
Things seem to have settled down on the trains again, perhaps.
I was able to book online for 10th May travelling from Seville, and back later in the month without any problem. Also, the trains were not showing "fully booked" as per a year ago !

Anyone know if this "covid" travel scheme has now ended as we are into a new year ?
Happy New Year everybody.

Re: Trains / RENFE
Has anyone any idea how long in advance you can book on RENFE these days.
Strange I may have to book a train, before I think about booking a flight !

Re: Trains / RENFE
Just use the trains, pay full price for buses on the rare occasion I catch one.
Last time I was in Spain, could not get a train to Malaga on the days I wanted, so did not get there for the few days I had I mind, and that was after checking at the rail station. Hoped it is more or less what it was pre covid. You turned up at the station and booked. Fortunately I had left booking a hotel until I had sorted out the rail tickets !

Oh well.
Booked to fly to Seville mid May. Guess it will be April before I can book a train to travel on, on the day.

I have been looking to book a train on 15th May. Frustrating, can't book after 5th. That has not changed in two days. I was looking to book out of Seville on the 15th !

Sympathies. It’s hopeless trying to make advanced bookings. Sometimes the staff are waiting for the Summer/ Winter/Whatever timetable to be released so they cannot issue tickets even if you go to a station to buy the tickets.

I’ve just tried the site out and got Seville-Malaga, out 15th may, return 1 week later. I stopped at the point of giving my details, cost about 79 Euros return. Try clearing your cache in your browser to see if that allows you to start again.

Re: Trains / RENFE
Wonder what would have happened if you actually tried to pay. Tried again earlier, stuck on the 5th May for three days now.
