One of my christian names wasn’t spelt correctly on my TIE. Didn’t notice it for some months and thought it didn’t matter.
Well it got flagged up as an error (to be corrected at my expense of course) when I applied for a grant.
Made the appointment and paid the small fee. Turned up today and everything went well until “ new card will take a month, you cannot leave the country until your new card comes” . Decided discretion is best and parked the application as we are going back yet again to attend to father issues later this month.
I suspect the ruling only applies to Spanish citizens as although I always sow my card along with my British passport you dont have to.Couldn’t face anymore hassle on what are very lenghty journeys end to end.

I doubt if this rule is for Spanish citizens because documents such as ID cards and passports are made on the spot for them.

A month seems a ridiculous amount of time to change one letter!
They already have my biometric data on file though they were going to use a new photo.Maybe they do current background checks ( see if I am a person of interest to UK, if I have been posting about weaknesses in the great EU etc)

I think it took a month for our TIEs to be made when we originally applied. I had a feeling they're made in Madrid or something, as there was a bit of a fuss as many of us have slightly incorrect wording on them. We were told it didn't matter, but I think they are made centrally somewhere. https://theleader.info/2020/10/04/spani ... te-errors/
