Hi Chris, where've you been?

My wife bought a sewing machine from a wholesale distributor on the Santa Barbara trading estate which is on the opposite side of the N340 from Carrefour Los Patios and there is a shop that sells fabric on the left as you go towards Mijas from Fuengirola just before you get to the roundabout over the motorway.

Hey Beach.

Busier than a busy thing from busy land on a busy day. Sorry if I've missed anything vital :) Thanks for the update, posted by mistake by my girlfriend with my ID.

Email me at the usual address and I'll bring you uptodate.

There is a material shop on the N340 in the ´parade´of ´shops´ before the turn off for Antequera and Los Patios turn off. They have loads of matrial from 5€ a mtr from what I can remember.

Beachcomber, do you have any more details of the wholesale distributor you mentioned. I'm looking for a haberdashery wholesaler as near to Almeria region as possible but so far have only found Sevilla or Barcelona.

Chris

We bought a very good sewing machine for 60€, at LIDL supermarket, I’m told they often repeat their bargains, so keep an eye on them, if your not in a hurry.

Regards, gretch

Cassandra, the wholesaler is for the sewing machine not the material. These are the details of the company:

Codisven
Licurgo, 49 (Parque Empresarial Santa Bárbara)
MALAGA 29004
MALAGA

Tlf: 952 237 078
Fax: 952 242 301

E-Mail: [email protected]
http://www.codisven.com/empresa.htm

This is also a repair and service centre and they cater for members of the public as well as the trade.

I buy all mine on e.bay you can get some really good bargains especially with some of the mixed bags of ribbons and trimmings etc.

Thanks for the information Beachcomber. I've had a look at their website and it looks like the sewing machine is almost a sideline for them so unfortunately they don't have what I'm looking for.

Safeashouses, I'm looking for a reliable wholesale supplier as I'm setting up a retail business. Although I've seen bits & pieces on Ebay I really need a reliable wholesaler/distributor based in Spain. Thanks for the info though, it may be useful for 'specials'.

Have you tried the markets for fabrics? The market in San Pedro is on a Thursday.

Beach/CJ...there is also a good material shop on the Santa Barbrara aswell. Whilst you're there, El Viso nextdoor is also worth a scout round, it never ceases to amaze me what you can get on there. There are a lot of Chinese clothes importers on there to!

Yes, I once spent an afternoon looking for Saproven and I made the mistake of asking the Chinese importers if they knew where it was! :D
