Cat Collars

Postby Annabell » Fri Aug 25, 2006 12:19 pm

Hi All
We're heading off next weekend and am slowly getting organised.
I've got the collars for the dogs to prevent the sandfly etc but does anybody know if there is an equivalent for cats?
TIA

I assume you are thinking about the Leishmaniosis problem.

You don't need to protect the cats - they are not affected. Only dogs, foxes, rodents and humans are at risk.

Have found very few places sell the soft collers only the plastic ones for cats. Brit Essentials in Alhaurin el Grande sell the soft ones. We have 4 Siamese cats and the plastic collers used to wear the fur away at an alarming rate.
The last time we returned to the UK bought a number of collers back with us of varying colours.

Mr Wilson could you inform me/us of where you get these collers with no problem. I can get red soft collers but when you have 4 identical siamese brothers it becomes a problem. Tried attaching different coloured material ewtc but due to high educational levels they seem to be all one colour in the morning.
The plastic ones would be ideal as they are of varying colours but their necks go bald and look like turkeys after a while [apparently they suffer from bald/balding necks!
