registering as partners

new to this forum,

I need some advice, we are a couple not married and we wanted to register as partners, now i understand this is quite legal hetrosexual registration so we are classed as a couple for tax and inhertiance law, now i have tried at our local council and they no that you can so it but cant do it ? I dont think it has ever been asked before ? any way does any one know or has anyone registered as partners and can give us some help on what we have to do ?

We just went to the Marbella Town Hall and registered with them, we got a bit of paper called a convivencia (couple living together).
