Is your Casa On Google Earth?

Postby Campo Kenny » Sun Feb 18, 2007 3:40 pm

I'd giving up trying to find ours out on the campo, as the images were not detailed outside of the towns and just a brown blur.

Tried again today after a few months and Andalucia appears to have been updated to a lot higher detail.............I've traced ours and the image is incredible. I'd put the image at about 2 and a half years old as the house never had its pool........great nosing in nearby houses gardens too

Just checked our UK home again and although image is clear it is about 7 years old judging by the cars on drive :?

Worth a look if you haven't checked for a while.

La Cala has shown quite clearly for some time now.

I am sure I read somewhere, I think even on a forum, that when they updated some parts of the site, they went back in time. Weird!

Remember that everything that Fred Astaire did, Ginger Rogers did too; except she did it backwards and wearing high heels!

Alan as I say our house here in UK shows an image probably 5 or 6 years later than the Spanish one.

Katy don't be saying that or OH will take 5 hours to get ready for a dip as well as going out

Hey, you're right. The resolution is much better now. I can see the
footpaths through the scrub near my house, which I reckon are less
that 1 metre wide.
I wonder who owns the 2 or 3 cars parked in my yard?

Don't know about google earth but my place is on a list that stops you getting any debt, or holding an account anywhere, especially if you have any County Court Judgements against you.

Well I'm in debt on account of not paying my County Court Judgements.

Still waiting for Canillas de Albaida to be more than a white blurred outline.

Navigon GPS software can lead me to the village by road, but not to a specific street within it.

But, as they say, everything comes to he who waits.......

Have you tried looking on sigpac. This is a sort of spanish version of Google Earth and is a mash-up
of maps and aerial photos

Yes I have, that is a bit clearer than GE.

I guess we'll just have to wait for Google Earth, the CIA and NASA to finish the surveillance.

Manilva is particularly good on Google Earth. We can even see our car parked in the road outside our staircase, so the image less than two years old!
