I recently have tried to send a pm to two different long standing forum members.
To my chagrin , both failed. Looking back on my pm history it looks as though most of my messages are replies to other received messages which worked without issue.
Can you clarify what I am doing wrong?
Basically I enter compose message, put heading in, type message then it all goes wrong trying to put a user name in to send to. I have tried every combination of Add, find user, even with a name in, send or preview fails to get it into outbox.
Many thanks in anticipation, olive

Re: Sending pms
Try adding the recipient first.
Click on 'Compose message'
Click in the recipient box.
Enter the name of the recipient. (Make sure the name is exactly as shown in the forum otherwise it will not work)
Click 'Add'
The name should then appear below.
Type your message, enter a subject and press 'Submit'

Re: Sending pms
hmm, that worked first time with a test p.m. to you. Thanks.
i will try the one I wanted to send in a couple of hours time
I had even convinced myself that you first had to mark the recipient as "friend". Thankfully not. Cannot imagine when you would mark someone as foe!

Yes, received your test. As I said in my previous post, you need to spell the recipient's username exactly as it is shown in the forum.

Re: Sending pms
I tend to find a post from the intended recipient and click on their name and an option to send a PM comes up with the correct name already inserted.
