What's the difference between replying via the ( ") quotation marks and replying via the "Quick Reply" option at the end of the topic?

I replied to this via the ( ") quotation marks so it includes your original message in the reply.
If I replied via the "Quick Reply" option at the end of the topic then my reply wouldn't have quoted your original message.
Normally this is the preferred way of replying to a message.
