I'm sorry this has happened. I will also email admin to try to get it resolved forthwith. Unfortunately neither Sid nor I have any direct control over this.

This really makes me feel less of a tech-twit - if Enrique, master of all things electronic can get caught out like this there is hope for the likes of me!

Hi peteroldracer,
It's just the way the site has been setup...........
I've been changing to my new emails on loads of sites and this is the first one that locks your account out.
Not a big deal as I'm not buying anything on this site............
As Windows 10 is now so reliable my services are rarely needed..............

Re: Enrique's account deactivated !
Hi there,
Account temporary deactivate on change in email is a standard setting here, we could disable it if that is the will of the forum.
Problem is if a member's password is compromised, and access is gained and the email address is changed by the hacker, then the real member contacts us from a different email, how do we know who is the 'real' member?
On another subject, we recently noticed that a member mentioned that normally old posts are closed after a time and we don't do this.
What are member thoughts on whether we should do this or not?

I think keep it as it is.
Re: Enrique's account deactivated !
Keep both as they are.
Sometimes it is relevant to update an old post with new information.
Cheers

Understood. But there needs to be a way for the genuine member to get a quick resolution to the problem. I experienced an access problem a while ago and it took a mod's intervention to get it sorted as all direct approaches to admin were ignored.

Hi,
Have experienced the same as rafiki when contacting Admin in the past. Had to get Beachcomber to sort , which works if you have access to The Forum by other means or in contact with a Member by other means as seen in the past.
Getting back ............is this function available
"a new activation e-mail will be send to the new e-mail address, and when the user clicks the link in that e-mail, the account will be reactivated. "
