A good word to say about Ryanair...

Postby rafiki » Fri Mar 16, 2007 10:59 am

I made a couple of bookings with Ryanair online at the same time last week. I usually check for the email confirmations just in case. However, last week I was in a rush and I noticed that the direct debits for both had been processed through the bank. This morning I thought I had better print out next week's booking confirmation and was surprised it wasn't on my system. I'm not sure if Ryanair never sent it or if I deleted it by mistake but I had no confirmation and no booking reference :?

I don't like paying Ryanair's exorbitant premium rate call charges so I consulted saynoto0870.com for an alternative number. I found a geo number for Customer Services in Ireland and called them via VoipCheap. The phone was picked up after the second ring :!: and a guy answered 'Ryanair'. He told me I had reached the Press Office and so I was ready for the brush off and further trawling through the system but no, after I explained my problem, he said he would try to help, found my booking in just a few seconds, after a couple of security questions read out the booking ref. and said he would resend the email which arrived 30 seconds later.

Well done that man :!: :D :D
Brian.

I have resolved to print the web confirmation page at the time of booking to save this happening again.

I am always terrified of turning up at the airport and them having no record of us.

This ticketless thing is all very well if you are a well run company but ryanair.....

I travel with them very frequently and this is the first problem I have had with ticketing and I am perfectly prepared to believe I accidentally deleted their email confirmation. I have never heard of anyone turning up with a confirmed booking ref to be told they aren't on the list though.

Glad you liked the website :D

Hi Mary,

The number was 00353 12497700 I think. I always print out the web page confirmation now as there often seems to be a delay in the email confirmations these days.

Nice to see Pete will be home at the weekend. :) :)
