Transfer from Malaga airport to Estepona

Postby owen » Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:39 am

Hello,

I will be arriving at Malaga airport with my girlfriend for a short break on Sunday 7th October. We are staying in the AGH Estepona hotel (formerly known as 'Hotel Gran Oasis').

We were wondering whether anybody has ever stayed here before?

Also we are considering using the bus from the airport direct to marbella, then from marbella we can get a taxi to our hotel in estepona. has anybody got any details on this service? We have read and got quotes for taxis direct to estepona from the airport and they are very expensive!

As we are arriving on a sunday i was also wondering whether the bus timetables will differ from the midweek service like they do in england?

If anyone can shed any light on these it would be a massive help!

Thank you

This is not an answer to your original question and it may not be an option for you for various reasons but have you considered hiring a car?

The cost of a hire car for a few days is likely to be far less than the return taxi fare and much more convenient than using public transport.

I don't know that hotel but there are some mixed reviews here:

unfortunately im only 20 years old so not able to drive out of the uk! which is a shame because like you said it would have been a lot cheaper. I have read about the bus service from the airport and it seems pretty straight forward as it goes direct to marbella. then obviously a taxi from marbella to estepona wont cost that much as it isnt too far.

Hopefully someone else will be able to give you some information on the bus service.

There are buses from Marbella to Estepona too, it's quite a distance a taxi would be fairly expensive if you are on a budget. A good site for buses was recommended in a previous thread.

I'm not sure why you can't drive outside of the UK. The minimum age to drive a car in Spain is 18.

A niece recently stayed with us with her 23 year old boyfriend. He was able to hire a car but was told that if he had been only 19 or 20 there would have been a hefty deposit (about €350) which would have been returned to him if he brought the car back in one piece!

I haven't used the bus Owen we usually have a hire car we're old enough to drive +++

Here's a direct link to the bus companies website with timetables and prices. Sundays are listed seperately.

I think I have finally cracked it :)

This time table shows that the busses run from Monday - Sunday (7days)
from the airport at Malaga direct to Marbella bus station, and seens we land at 10.35 the most suitable will be the 12.00 bus.

someone please correct me if i'm wrong! also does the italic underneath mean what time the bus will arrive at its destination?

If you want to save money and you are travelling light then yes the bus is your best option. Please let us all know how your journey pans out.

Better plan your return journey too.

Hope you enjoy your holiday.
