NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
Is it only me that goes into panic mode in the departure lounge when i spot 3 to 11 year old boys and girls about to board my aircraft.
When I was that age any noisy outbursts in public, were swiftly dealt with by my mother by verbal threats or the fear of the slipper or the back of her hand when I got home. It seems to me that it is the norm for parents to "negotiate" with their horrific children rather than chastise them.
Stuck in a small airline seat next to the most obnoxious children for a few hours is my idea of holiday hell.
Why dont these parents just get it, we dont want to look at or hear their dreadful offspring whilst travelling in planes.Control them, slap them, do what you like with them but just let the rest of us travel in peace
Rant over

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
I haven't flown for nearly eighteen years so I have forgotten what it's like. How about an airline rule where all families with kids under sixteen have to sit together at the back of the aircraft?
Let's go Brandon!

How about they sit on the wings

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
is it that the children are not so well behaved nowadays or that the adults become increasing more like victor mildrew nowadays ?
Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
Don' you know!!!
You can´t touch your children or anyone elses for that matter for fear of being reported to social services

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
The children are not so well behaved, many are spoilt, rude, aggressive, high on sweets and fizzy drinks, "unsocialised" and offspring of bad parenting, that answer your question?julian wrote:is it that the children are not so well behaved nowadays or that the adults become increasing more like victor mildrew nowadays ?
Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
apart from the "high on sweets" that description could fit quite a few adults I´ve had the pleasure to see at airports !!

Are we talking about British children here - or children in general?

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
I'm not sure you are right.
I have seen Spanish children in restaurants after 10pm behaving just like their parents - that cannot be said of most Brit Brats

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
I have seen British and Spanish childen in restaurants that should be kicked out for their behaviour.
I think Easyjet (who allow parents with children to board first) do ask them to sit at the back. Doesn't make any difference though. The spanish are also tolerant of allowing toddlers still in nappies into community swimming pools
Suppose the British kids will come out worse on this thread...par for the course isn't it

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
The children I have encountered since living in Spain have on the whole been badly behaved whatever their nationality. A few have been well behaved sadly I have found most parents have no control or interest in what their offspring are doing. Kicked seats, continually banged as they run up and down plane aisles, deafened by their screaming, soaked by their drinks. In stores run over by child with full sixed trolley loaded and cannot see over it. Banged in the back by children and adults. Children running all over the place and expecting me to move out of their way as they clamber over cabinets. Eating food in supermarkets and discarding packaging. The only better/ well behaved ones are the ones out eating in the evening with families. Nappies in pools UGH disgusting filthy habit

Probably! Although the Spanish themselves don't think too much of their older children, they don't work, don't study, no respect etc. They call them the " generación ni ni"!

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
When my son went on his first plane journey at the age of about 3,i wrapped up little gifts(items that we could play on the plane, like snap cards, little books etc)so that he could unwrap and we could look at/play to keep him quiet. It worked a treat. Now as a 14 year old boy, enclosed into a small space,i must admit, hes a pain in the @rse.Once the battery power has gone from his PSP,all he then wants to do is eat and drink. It drives me mad.God help him if he starts to play up,he gets a quiet wallop on the leg and the old mothery snarl comes out. works a treat.I wouldnt put up with him being a little sod,and i wouldnt expect anyone else to on a plane.I hate screaming kids, theres just no need for it!

you´ve also noticed their behaviour then...I´m surprised they allow kids in the VIP departure lounge and in the first class section.....

Re: NOISY DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN
Well, a topic close to my heart How about adults only flights We have resorts and hotels where children are banned. Where I work, there are very badly behaved children who run amok whilst their mums are engrossed in the art of shopping. The mannequins all had their trousers round their ankles last week and some had their hands removed and stuffed in the display handbags! This week being half term here - there's worse to come! If you tell these children off (under the guise of "be careful, you may get hurt if the display falls on top of you") the parents glare at you Of course, my children are very well behaved and I can take them anywhere
Small Spanish boys are definately the worst - no contest
