Have they built them yet?

Postby RichardCoeurdeLion » Thu Mar 08, 2012 4:56 pm

Haven't been over for a few years, but coming soon.

Wondered if the following have been built in the interim.

Train line from Fuengirola to Algecerias

Tunnel under San Pedro (is that house that was stranded when the southern bypass was built, still there?)

Euro Disney near Manilva

Anything else I should know?

Thank you

Are you having a laugh  No to all of them. I can remember anxiously studying the plans for the proposed rail line about 10 years ago...no pasa nada

The San Pedro tunnel is almost finished. The disney is, I think, likely to be built in Murcia.

When we were there in December latest newson the tunnel was that it had structural problems...water entering from above or below, not sure. There's a suprise!

We drove through San Pedro las week, and it looks almost finished. Thought Disney was being built near Murcia as there are properties for sale as being near the new disney...just marketing I expect

1. They were talking about the trainline when I was in school in San Pedro in 1980, still not happened.

2. Disney in Spain is a complete myth, Disney have denied any knowledge of doing anything in Spain.

3. The tunnel in San Pedro is happenig but Spanish style will be finished mañana.

I think it is Universal or Paramount who are looking at a theme park in Murcia,
Alexandr for President (Squire for PM !)

They are buying a licence from Paramount and looking for investors for a few billion euro. Paramount is not putting in any money. At the moment the only investors are the Murcia tourist board and a company set up by a crooked developer. The Spaniards involved have already been involved in various corruption cases.

Thread revival.............. So may 2009 until now  fantastic. The tunnell / bypass is now finished. It just needs to be connected at each end (one days work). I really hoped it would be operative last sunday the 24th but alas  the cones were still out. Any news this week ?
