Re: Train up to Ronda from near Gib.
I woke in the night, screaming after a nightmare.
I'd attempted the walk solo, slipped on the path, broke leg, and was never seen again. OH jacketed the insurance money and went off with an honest property developer, to help autistic kids in Africa.
Thinking about it, I don't think it's a particuarly brilliant idea to go mountain walking on your tod, so
I think I'll just do a motorised tour of the villages and have lunch at that place on Benaojen Station.
Thanks for all the help peeps

RG you wrote: 'and have lunch at that place on Benaojen Station.' ... do you Molino del Santo? ... a small hotel and restaurant run by Brits (or it was when I last went there some 10 plus years ago!)

Rick, this is from the information pack I give to my clients, hope it might be useful for you. Have a good trip

The restaurant at the Molino del Santo Hotel restaurant has a terrace set alongside the river and its mountain views and a dining room. The menu varies throughout the year, depending on the season, a wide selection of local produce is used, and the Spanish specialities include Benaoján´s famous sausages. Vegetarian and a children’s menu are available.
The bar area offers a variety of drinks, including a wide range of Andalucian sherries and a selection of snacks. Afternoon tea, complete with delicious home made cakes, can be taken on the terrace every day. Worth contacting for reservation can be very busy and closed for some time in the winter. Tel 952 16 71 51
EL MUELLE

Am fairly sure I went on a Thursday to El Muelle. Maybe they will make you something. I think at weekends they get the full oven blowing and tend to get more parties. I recall having some good grub anyway with very few other diners. You could always give them a ring to check? I got the phone from the web site they have.

Re: Train up to Ronda from near Gib.
A regular place for us when we are over in our other home min Montejaque. Gina her husband, the chef and staff (of which almost all are their family)are most welcoming. Gina speaks very good English. The prices are as in most inland villages very reasonable with the majority of the clients being locals coming from Benaojan or Montejaque.
