Weather in Granada in September

Postby gerryh » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:42 pm

Probably a question for Sid.
We are thinking of spending a few days in Granada in early September.
Are there any sites that show what the weather has been like for the last few years?
Done a Google search but not found anything useful.
Cheers

This might help.

Pleasantly warm during the day and cooler nights than the coast.

You will need room heating and a warm coat for evenings, the temperature could be lower than 20 degrees. plus, there may be rain in late september!

Sptember is gona be Autumn season in Granda. you will be lucky, the weather will be fairly pleasant with temperature at a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 28°C. Its a tourist favourable season with rain showers and chilly nights covered with blue sky:)

Quite a few of the camp sites shut there at the end of September which is indicative of poorer weather coming in so don't leave it late on in the month. I have been up there late month and the rain has started early and have been caught out whilst it has been glorious sunshine down here, not far away.

Many camp sites around here are open all year round but you don't have to travel far for the geography to change and make it impossible - mountain ranges etc.,.

A tad off topic, but we stayed in a rental in Montefrio once (yes, I´m well aware of the translation!), not far from Granada, in May and it was without doubt the coldest property we have ever experienced! Positively polar! Yes lovely during the day, not so good at night.

I don't agree with theses forecasts as I have a house near Granada and the evenings/nights in September are extremely warm.
We find it cools about the first week in October, when the first snow is on the Sierra Nevada.
Until then the mountains hold the heat from the sun and it stays really warm and humid.

You just have time to get down to your nearest tacky bit of coast, where you will find stalls that will sell you a hat, personalised with "Béseme rápido" !
