Parking at Seville Airport

Postby KarenD » Fri Oct 26, 2012 8:24 pm

Hi

We're thinking of spending a couple of nights in Seville. Instead of driving into the city and probably getting lost and struggling to park we thought it may be a good idea to leave the car at the airport and then get a taxi to the hotel. Is the airport easy to find? (we will be coming from Jerez direction) Do you have to pre-book the car park or just leave the car there? Any idea of cost for two days?

Thanks in advance

Karen

Coming from the Jerez direction (i.e. south) and to get to the airport in the north east of the city you need to use the ring road and personally think it does not make much sense to then park up and presumably take the airport bus into the city. However if this is what you are happy with then there is a plenty of parking at the airport with a lower cost one when you first see all the parking signs on the approach road into the airport buildings. Unsure what it costs per day but the airports web site may help with this. www.aena.es

There are plenty of car parks in and around Sevilla- what they would charge for 2 days parking though I do not know. The first time we went to Sevilla we knew where we wanted to go, but could we get there! Now we know where to go to park, so driving and parking is a doddle! We park just past the bullring, there are a few underground carparks along the road close to the bullring.

But surely the airport's the most expensive place to park. If you come off the Cadiz to Seville road, take the middle lane into Seville - left lane takes you over the bridge towards Huelva on the SE30 and right lane takes you round on the SE30 towards Malaga (and the airport).

This brings you to a roundabout where you'd take a right to a suburb called Los Bermejales. If you go right again at the next roundabout then take a left, it's a highly populated area so cars are safely parked there overnight. Just park anywhere - make a note of where you are and you can walk back towards the road you came in on and took a right at the roundabout. From there you'll see that there's a busy street - if you'd gone left at that roundabout you'd have ended up at the Betis stadium so that's the direction you should walk. You're sure to find a taxi.

Parking at the airport is a lot cheaper these days. It will be about 14€ for two days in the long-term park http://tinyurl.com/d3oharf. You can book online but it's not really necessary. Taxis into the city aren't too expensive <20€ but there is a good bus service for about 3€ p.p. It runs about every 20 minutes.

Doesn't the hotel have a car park? With a satnav navigating through Seville isn't too bad.
You can spend, minutes, hours, days, weeks or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened - or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the f**k on.

Thanks for all your replies - very helpful. It's a self-catering apartment, not hotel. There is a car parking space (which you pay extra for - not sure how much) but according to the reviews, it's very tight and also we didn't fancy getting lost in the town centre! I think we'll book the airport parking online and then get a taxi or bus.
