Malaga - Virgin Del Carmen

We have booked a couple of nights in Malaga City but just realised one of the days is the Virgen Del Carmen fiesta (16th July). Will shops, museums etc be open over the holiday?

Yes. It's not a local holiday in Malaga.
It's a holiday in Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola (and probably more coastal towns), but as July is tourist season all shops remain open.
