Pets on Trains

Pets on Trains

Does anyone know if it is possible to take a small dog on the train from Malaga to El Churro without them having to travel in a cage. I have looked at the RENFE site, and it does state that on Commuter trains this is allowed, but on medium and long distance trains they need to be caged, but I am not sure what category the El Churoo train comes under.

Yes El Chorro is on the Medium Distance
Malaga to Seville and Malaga to Ronda routes.
