Accommodation for university geography fieldtrip

Postby ChrisParker1985 » Mon Jan 04, 2016 1:59 pm

Hi everyone,

I am investigating the possibility of organising a geography fieldtrip for ~50 university students in Andalucia, ideally near the Sierra Nevada National Park.

We are looking for somewhere that has the following features:
- can accommodate ~50 students in shared rooms and ~5 staff in private rooms
- is not in an urban area (so that we can keep the students away from bars / clubs)
- can provide fullboard catering (breakfast and dinner on site and packed lunches)
- has (at least two) rooms that can be used as classrooms for students to work in
- has space fro the students to socialise in
- is in a scenic location

If you have any ideas I'd be very grateful.

Cheers,

Chris

Sorry can't help.

When I was at uni our field trips were to Salcombe, Dover and Appleby. Wouldn't have minded an overseas one.

Doesn't say much for Uni-age students if they need chaperoning to that extent. Bit worrying...
Nevertheless, I'm sure you will find somewhere.

Why not try the ski resort of Pradallano ? If its out of season you are going there then the place will be a ghost town.

Better than allowing them to waste their time getting up to no good.

Original post smacks of being an advert.

It's not advertising anything. He's looking for a location to house some students on a field trip he's planning. Unless there's a hidden code in his post that I don't see :-)

Hi,
There was a link in the OP that has been removed.

It was an example of what the OP was looking for, or it could have been an ad, depending on your point of view .

As it was in France I'd take it as an example........

Pradollano was a good idea from scotty..........
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Thanks a lot to those who have offered helpful advice. I'll have a look to see if there is anything in Pradallano suitable for our needs.

Thanks again,

Chris
