Medusa. Jellyfish

Postby swerve » Wed Jul 27, 2016 3:50 pm

When we visit the beach. We usually sit amongst the palm trees in caleta de velez. And we have noticed quite a few people getting treatment for jellyfish stings. One lady had to get taken away in an ambulance. Please take care if your planning to go for a swim.

Yes too true, my Wife has just come back from swimming at Caleta de Velez and she has been stung by a jelly fish.
Just minor stinging, nothing serious.

I swam with my daughter last year and both of us were stung. She still has a scar under her arm from it. It was uncomfortable for about half an hour an then settled. I would avoid in the future!

Yes there was a green flag flying but if you don't know what the flags mean there a bit pointless. I think maybe a flag with a jellyfish on would be better. There Nast little buggers.

There is a useful app published by Aula del Mar called Infomedusa (it lists beaches and people participate to inform if there are any jellyfish). It's in spanish.

Yes I've got it on my iPhone. When I tried to post on there it wouldn't let me. I kept getting an error message.
