Caminito del Rey

Postby suzyq » Sun Jun 04, 2017 10:25 am

Hi, I am trying to book a visit on 15th June. On website all General tickets sold out but some guided available. Is it possible that General tickets may be released closer to the day? We will be travelling from Ronda so turning up on chance is not really an option. I would prefer not to do guided visit. Thanks

Had a great day at caminito. Extremely hot tho and would advise avoiding mid summer months. Guide was very pleasant but would have preferred the General pass - 8 euros cheaper ! But a brilliant experience - not to be missed .

Try a local travel agent as they may well have tickets. Last time we did the caminito we bought our tickets from a travel agent in Torrox. For the day we wanted none were available online. But I read somewhere that only a small percentage of tickets are available via the official website.

The Caminito del Rey website has quietly posted tickets for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 18 December 2020 to 28 February 2021 plus Monday to Thursday between Christmas Day and the Three Kings. Strangely this precedes any announcement on the reopening of municipal borders in Andalucia, since it is impossible to walk the Caminito without crossing the Ardales / Alora municipal border.

The path had closed for the second time on 10th November when Andalucia Coronavirus measures were introduce that closed all municipal borders. The path had previously re-opened on Friday 12th June 2020. The ticket only price remains 10 € and the shuttle bus is 3.50€ The number of visitors a day in June was limited to 50% being stepped up to the normal 1.100 in September. It was not difficult to by tickets online at short notice.
