Long may covid continue (2025 is the end date, according to 80 year cycle).
What sort of statement is that? You should be banned from the forum coming out with that when 100s of thousands have died.

So, my esteemed advice, stay away from Spain until they've learnt their lesson and start showing us respect and appreciation for spending our money here. Long may covid continue (2025 is the end date, according to 80 year cycle).
What disgusting comments

Saw an article in the Telegraph reporting that some leaving on the ferry to France were turned back and fined for not having a valid reason.

Jhonnie99...The Spanish haven't said anything that hasn't already been said by many brits on British forums and newspaper comments sections...Foreigners are constantly blamed for bringing the virus into the Uk.
Your post is that of a typical arrogant brit who uses the threat of money in order to gain satisfaction and some kind of superiority.. In reality Spain will not fall apart because a bunch of arrogant sulky brits decide to boycott their country, infact it would be a much better country if they did..

I agree with the posts about the previous disgusting.comments but I am going to leave it in place because it will have more effect than merely being deleted by a moderator. If the person responsible wishes to delete it he is quite free to do so.

If you look back it is human nature to blame foreigners or even strangers. Remember posters on here some were grumbling about Madrilenos travelling to their second homes. Wales sort of closed it's border and people travelling to Cornwall were bad mouthed. The boat people were being blamed in the Spanish press last week. If you fancy a history lesson it has happened through the ages. Common sense should tell anyone that most of the areas badly affected by the virus in Spain have the least Brits so sure they won't be blaming them.

Update on travel requirements.

Simple TMA test now allowed instead of PCR test authorized by Spain today. See www.boe.es under Sanidad dept notices

Telegraph reports today that after Jan 01 the uk will not be on the Covid approved list. Potentially that means no entry for Brits until the uk Covid rate falls below the eu average rate in June. Norway has already confirmed no entry for Brits after Jan 01 except in extenuating circumstances.

Hopefully Spain will ignore this nonsense. There may be a paywall but here’s a link

I don't think it will apply in Spain as they have already banned travel without a negative PCR test.

I cant Spain, Greece and Portugal etc turning away Brits who spend 100s of millions a year in those countries. Short term there could be a few problems but if the Vax doesn’t do what we are all hoping then we will all just have to get on with it.

Long term I agree. North Europeans need their sunshine hols. South Europeans need the money that brings.

Short term though I am not so sure. How can anyone plan? What happens if you get Corona virus on your trip. A lot wouldn’t be able to sit out a further two or so weeks waiting for a negative test result. Never mind the cost(s). What happens if a family turn up at the airport for their trip and one family member fails tests.

The results of a large survey across Europe revealed unsurprisingly that people were going to holiday more in their home country and drive rather than fly.

They are tested up to 72 hrs before boarding so that should not happen.

I know what TMA stands for but it does not seem to be available in the UK unless it is the same as the two-hour RT-LAMP test, for example, available at Stansted Airport for £79. For the epidemiologists out there; are they perchance one and the same? Lay responses welcome too!

If cheap and rapid testing does become available airside at Spanish airports I wonder if that would be a sensible alternative. With the RT-LAMP test you receive your results by email so in theory you could have your test, go to the gate at STN and pick up your results upon arrival. Bit of a gamble though...

What does happen is that many test results are not getting back in time. Saw on TV that the new testing at Gatwick has been a shambles. Seems many dubious companies have set up in various areas. Long article in Telegraph says the rule is down to individual countries (18 countries have higher virus figures than the UK!). Some travel companies don't seem worried (they would say that) and Easyjet says it is no big deal.

Some insurance companies are covering all above eventualities. If not there is always Turkey  :lolno:

If anyone looks at post that I made above. They have to click on the link. You have to click on the Brown "Here" word before Authorized centers.
Then a 7 Page list comes up with Names of clinics, Locations and Phone nos

Hope this helps

We have a car here ready for the customer to collect - he was to board his plane because his test results hadn´t arrived in time before he was due to fly.
