Re: No tourists until after summer
Well i have no idea Gus...Fed up of listening to the news tonight, BJ says that people should not be going on holiday to amber list countries, then why allow them if that's the case and why hand the cake out and then guilt trip people who wish to eat it... it's the same as saying the pubs can open but don't order a drink. They now have a society of many people working from home and those who are willing to pay for tests don't have a problem with self isolating, if the door has been opened to let them out then what did he expect the outcome would be.

Can someone enlighten me. I thought Spain’s borders were closed to Brits unless they are residents. But I know of at least two families who have ferried across to visit their 2nd home. What exactly is or is not being enforced at the border or ferry terminal.

Two of my neighbours, not particularly close, are Belgian and they just come and go seemingly as they please. Ditto building work, they have not had time to get a license.
Re: No tourists until after summer
I'm a little confused. We saw the message on May 10th. about people being refused boarding unless they were residents but this must have happened to hundreds of people and nobody appears to have made much fuss about it.

Maybe it just doesn’t suit the gutter press to either support lawbreakers, or to bash Euro governments.

All EU nationals can come and go as they like bar their countries own restrictions. We have had Belgium neighbours here in the last few weeks aswell

Who is the latest ginger-whinger?
Re: No tourists until after summer
I have a flight booked for June, I’m totally confused as to whether I can fly or not. I’m a UK resident with a house in Seville, I understand the FCO advice and that it’s for essential travel only at the moment I get that, but I am totally unclear as to the entry rules for Spain? Will they let me in? Do I need a pcr test?

Re: No tourists until after summer
Things seem to be changing hourly so it's difficult to say what will be happening next month.
The UK indicates today that Spain will not go onto the green list in the next lot of announcements, so may not be on it until the end of June. Easyjet have said they are reducing their summer schedule now. But then it also depends on what Spain will allow. From what people have written, non-residents may be getting in at the moment (with a PCR test I presume) although I thought they weren't allowed in until at least the end of May. There's talk of allowing non-EU citizens in with proof of full vaccination, but now there's the Indian variant in the UK, the Brits may be excluded from that when non residents are able to come here. I think it's very difficult to plan ahead at the moment.

Thanks for the replies, I’m glad it’s not just me who is unclear! Rightly or wrongly I don’t mind travelling against foreign office advice (as long as it isn’t illegal), sounds like I’ll need to keep my ear to the ground wrt Spain entry although firsttango your post looks promising!
Re: No tourists until after summer
Breaking news. UK visitors allowed from Monday and no negative test needed.

More info here

The article also shows a real slowdown in infections. Odd really because in my municipal, the electronic board outside my offices still show 499 infections, which would be almost 10 per cent of the whole country. I would suspect the next update will show a dramatic fall.

They say people will not need a pcr test, nothing about a vaccine certificate.

Re: No tourists until after summer
Goodness! So whats the big deal about the Eu having vaccine certificates for their own citizens to travel within Europe if Spain is allowing a 3rd country in without the need for either a pcr test or proof of vaccine.
