Passing through airport security yesterday for a UK bound flight I noticed a poster for DIVA, AEAT's VAT (IVA) refund scheme for non-resident EU travellers. It seems you can reclaim allowable IVA at a DIVA terminal with the necessary paperwork (of course!). Has anybody tried this yet?

Re: DIVA
This could be a benefit for tourist from the UK when they come to Spain.

On the other hand, the UK are going to withdraw the scheme which might seem a little odd from the party of low taxes especially as they always claim that lower taxes encourages growth. However, critics of the move say that wealthy travellers moving around the Europe will be made aware that it will be better not to buy while on their UK leg as it will mean that the same item with exactly the same cost will now cost quite a bit less in the EU once all the VAT is returned.
