Hoping of course after today, at least the test for travelling back to the UK will be scrapped. Will have a couple of extra "Menu del dia" instead !

Looks like the tests are going to be scrapped in October for the fully vaccinated. According to the British press.

Well,
half way there. Tests from Spanish side cancelled, as there is no profit in them for the UK government. Whole thing is a fiasco, we have to be thankful for small mercies. Would be horrible to fail a "Spanish test" 2 /3 days before travelling back to the UK.

Read in the telegraph the other day in the comments section about one guy who had travelled back from the canaries, he searched for Randox test booking reference numbers to use on his passenger locator form.. he claimed to have used one he had found and sailed through customs at Uk border control. He said if you can't find one make it up. RANDXxxxxxxx. I don't doubt that some people will try and use all manner of tricks to get around not paying for a day 2 test although the penalties for false info isn't worth the risk, having said that a friend never did receive her day2 test result and neither did she receive any calls from any gov department...whether they were notified of the result by the testing company is another story..Makes me wonder how well they are monitoring it or if they follow up on test results which have not been reported back from the testing companies.

Seems that the day 2 PCR will remain in place until after the half term, so until the end of October. No doubt the so called cheaper lateral flow ones will be pricey, as reported today "Even if the Government scraps them in time, fully vaccinated travellers will still face lateral flow or rapid antigen tests, which The Telegraph found on Friday being sold by government-approved private providers for as much as £150." Rip off as usual, considering you can get one here for 20€.

Re the comment about the Randox codes above, someone wrote in the comments of the DT article that they have used the same code 3 times running on different flights which was never picked up.
