Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
I need to book a trip to Scotland next week to attend a funeral. I believe that the regulations are slightly different to going to England?
PLEASE... can someone tell me what I have to do? I've heard about the day 2 test, but what do I need to do to get it. I intend staying in a hotel for a few nights whilst there and then returning to Spain a few days later.
I am a Spanish resident and have been double jabbed in Spain and have the EU Covid Certificate, but, after reading some stuff on the internet this might not be good enough in Scotland?
Having to deal with the loss of a loved one is bad enough but having to deal with the process of trying to get back to say goodbye during this time is proving a nightmare.
Has anyone gone to Scotland recently that could give me some info?
Hoping someone can help.
Poppy

That appears to refer if travelling from a 'Red' country. Have read the section which covers travel from elsewhere, but don't understand!! Was hoping someone that had gone recently could advice.

Hi IreneD,
Having read through ........It reads similar to UK........ Wicksey posted very recently when she went through the procedure.
The Section you're interested in ..........from my Link
"If you’re fully vaccinated".............Three thing you have to do.
1) Print a hard copy of your EU Vaccination Certificate
2) Contact an Approved Testing company to get Test Kit to an Address where you can pick it up, they will give Number to input when filling in Locator Form.
3) Fill in Locator Form
within 48 hours before you arrive in Scotland.
To be able to complete your form, you must have these details:
your COVID-19 day 2 test booking reference number
your flight details
the address you’re staying at in Scotland

Guidance posted here is correct…flew from Malaga to Edinburgh yesterday…I would print all documents those having them on phone only delayed checking by gate staff.poppy1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 1:51 am I need to book a trip to Scotland next week to attend a funeral. We used Oncologica UK…test £18.50…arrived today used it and passed. Simply a case of do test photograph and send off for results certificate.
Re: Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
Randox health is also a very good company for testing. We used them on every trip since testing introduced.
Re: Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
Thank you all so much. Sounds so much simpler to do now that it has been 'translated ' into words I can understand. The info regarding the test companies was extremely useful.
I feel confident now that I can sort everything out.
Will not forget to pack the thermals!!

I was here in Spain in June and came back to UK in July, I had a lateral flow test in Torrox and booked a pcr test for day 2 via government web site. Reading from uk government website to go back to uk this time I don't need a lateral flow test in Spain but only a booking for day 2 test in uk, is this correct?
Thank for all reply.

Torox, But must be pre booked before you depart Spain and proof that you have done it if asked at departures.
Re: Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
Just get the cheapest. Have to have reference number thats all. I never send them back anyway. Its a scam they dont follow it up.

Living in Scotland and having visited Spain late October this is what we had to do. Fill in Spanish Locator Form with up loaded UK NHS proof of double jab. Fill in UK Locator form with proof of double jab and proof of ordered Lateral Flow Test with the ID number that LFT company gives you when you order it to your address.
That was all. Sounds very complicated but was a doddle

Re: Travel to Scotland....Hep Please!
When going back to the UK in July I had a lateral flow test in Torrox then ordered a pcr test for day 2 then filled the UK locator form. We are going back in December but it seems we only need to order day 2 test to fill in the UK locator form. So the lateral flow test isn't needed. Yes I had a booster already.
