Pre departure Test

Postby costakid » Sun Dec 05, 2021 11:24 am

So now we will all need a pre departure test to enter UK. All this for a variant that so far hasn’t resulted in a death.

Saw this in https://www.express.co.uk/travel/articl ... h-tourists

However, May be a one off as they say it about UK but we arrived at Gatwick last week and although all the Transatlantic's had landed at the same time they were no queues. In Caribbean it’s normal to queue for an hour as they seem to do some stuff in writing!

Maybe they'll start again now that people need them to travel?? They were one of the cheapest and were open Sundays which could be useful.

That's what I'm hoping now that it's a requirement again. Must have been a good money maker for them.

Yes, considering they give away the LFTs for free in the UK, their cost must be minimal. I did read ages ago that Mercadona in Portugal was going to start selling them for 2,50€. Cost price must be cents!

They give them for free in UK but not allowed to be used for travel which says it all, money making scam

Same here Casita Bonita.
If you do find an alternative, could you post it please?
We live in Torrox; anywhere near would be good.
Ta. very much. JB
PS: Have the goalposts been moved again regarding what we have to do to get back into Spain?
Last we heard was to just fill in the SPTH form.

Found a couple in Nerja. Have only done a quick google. We have a couple of weeks to go so not in panic mode yet.

We have a couple of friends flying out Friday. I'll see what they come up with...

As far as i can see, assuming residency is held then it's still fully vaccinated and completed spth form at the moment.

Cheers Bob.
There is a clinic 5mins from us on T.Costa ( who did our driving licences for us).
I expect they won't be cheap. If we end up using them; at least we know they are very efficient.

Thanks Bob.
Up until now,I understood that we will need a PCR test before we fly to UK.
My Missus is telling me that Beeb is now saying: "PCR or LFT"
I think I've been left behind in the confusion

I have always used Bioclon in Malaga. Great service and quite cheap.

I can only assume that since the preflight test requirement was dropped nobody wanted one with the certificate.
