Taxis at Malaga AGP
Taxis at Malaga AGP
Our Family is visiting next month
Normally we would pick up visitors ourselves from the airport ( using the express carpark).
On this occasion we will not be able to do that. They will be taking a taxi.
We have no actual experience of Malaga Airport taxis. We would like a bit of advice.
Is it best to pre-book a taxi or just get into one on arrival?
(My inclination has always been to simply walk out of an airport "arrivals" and jump into one of the taxis outside.Having to contact a waiting driver and then find out where he will be picking me up seems more long-winded.)
Any helpful ideas appreciated.
Thankyou ; JB

Yes, your inclination is spot on, that's exactly what i'd do.So much easier.

Hi Francis.
Does this company have a car waiting for you directly outside the terminal building, or do you have to make contact with them, when you arrive, to arrange where to be picked up?

Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
They stand in the exit of arrivals carrying a board with the passengers name on it.They know the flight arrival time so there never been any problems even with flight delays.

Cheers Francis.
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
I would recommend booking someone like Francis's link in advance. I'm sure it is more expensive just picking up a taxi outside the airport. When we have done it the taxi driver is there waiting for you at the arrivals hall.

Thanks Francis &,Wicksey.
Just did a quote from the link.
€88 for trip from Malaga to our place.Very expensive.
I can get a local firm for €70.
As it's our daughter who is making the trip to see us,I'll let her decide.
She probably has umpteen " apps" for this sort of thing
Cheers JB

Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
I would say that 70€ is about the right price to Torrox.
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
They are all on a meter now so if its a proper company they cant overcharge theoretically.

Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
Recently used Frigiliana Taxis to go to/from Airport. 75€ fixed price each way. Our return flight was delayed but they were waiting for us at arrivals with a sign so that we could identify them when we finally arrived. The driver let us know that they monitor the flight details so they are aware of any delays. They have a website and you can also Whatsapp them.
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
Taxis also give a fixed price. When I got one from the cruise terminal he wanted 100€ but I nagged him down to 70€. There was only the one taxi there so no other competition at the time (I planned to catch the bus but it all turned out to be more complicated than I envisaged and so unfortuantely I hadn't had a chance to book a taxi in advance.) The local taxis all give a fixed price to the airport.
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
I thought they all had to activate the meter in fact I think it is illegal not too
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
The same as they all have to take card payment
Re: Taxis at Malaga AGP
I didn't see any meter in the one from the cruise terminal and I've not seen one in the taxi I've used a few times. He is a proper taxi with the blue number plates (an unmarked dark grey car) but he only does prebooked journeys, he does not pick up random passengers from the airport etc. I did once get rescued by a white taxi on the motorway when I had a burst tyre and he had a meter ticking away, so maybe those ones are different. There seems to be the white taxis that are at the taxi ranks at airports and stations, then private hire ones that give a set price.
