You will have to pay at 3 stages and the rate depends on if it is high or low season, this week will be high. Think the average will be about 10/12 euros but not sure exactly.

It's worth paying to miss to the CDS! ;-) Low rate is something like €1 something, €3, and I'm not sure, but I think it comes to about €6???? for the 3 stages. Maybe seven, at the most. Most of the locals don't seem to want to pay it, you'll have the road to yourself almost!

No chance of the road to yourself today, had a call from relatives this am who were starting the journey back to madrid...they were leaving the toll road because it was at a standstill.

And to think a lot moved away from UK to get away from that, Katy! Reading in the online papers, there are large queues in Madrid, Valencia, etc. Bet there's one in San Pedro, never been there when there wasn't! And only 75 killed this Easter so far, better than last years figures. Still got the return yet.
See some woman that wiped out a couple of motorcyclists had no licence, and the speedo was stopped at 140kms/hr. Just looking for the link, and see the death toll is now up to 83!! Think I'll stay here until all the lunatics have gone home.

toll roads

Postby deckhand » Mon Apr 17, 2006 9:06 pm

Hi,
Thanks for all the responses, especially Chalkies excellent web site, it told me everything I wanted to know.
As a doddering 70 year old, I've had trouble with toll roads before [running out of coins, getting ripped off when I changed a 20 euro note, etc.]
I don't know about all those accidents thought!
Cheers again

Deckhand,

If you have problems with change and notes, why not use the "Tarjeta" lanes on the motorway? They will accept any UK credit Card with a chip - just insert the "chip end" of the card and the correct sum is debited to your credit card. There's seldom a queue and you don't end up with a pocket full of cents!
