Changing banks

Postby ashtondav » Fri Jun 02, 2023 10:35 am

Any way of seamlessly changing bank to an online alternative? Ie able to transfer all direct debits etc? Or is it the usual bureaucratic pain…

Based on my experience Ashtondave (limited though that is to a one time event), it will not be the usual bureaucratic pain. It will be 100 times worse.

They will make it as awkward as possible although it doesn’t have to be like that. I moved business accounts in the UK under the banking switch scheme and it was all done seamlessly. All direct debits etc automatically switched but a standing order had to be done manually.

I moved from Banco Popular to Caja Rural with absolutely no problems.
