How does one buy "campo" land?

Do you have a query on how to get things done in Andalucia, where to find things, who to call? Find out by posting and hear about others experiences.

Why would you want to buy Campo land?

In Andalucia it is now virtually impossible to get a licence to build a house on Rustic land.

You need to find your local corredor usually hang around in bars in the center of the town/vilage...it is possible that the land belongs to the government...or a land holder (one who can wait till urban reaches his land and boosts the price)..you could ask an agent to search.

Just hang around the area for a while until the local goatherd comes along. He will be able to tell you who the owner is.

Thanks for that. Its not rustic land its just not being built on yet a kilometer or so maximum from what is currently built. There are some houses dotted around the area.

There are some houses dotted around the area.

then its easy, ask them who they bought it from or just go to Town Hall and see whose paying taxes on it.

Funny I would have thought you knew this as you lived in Marbella??

The trick with the istan road is to have the bigger car! Just joking, its to look round the next corner! Any problems with buying istan land or where you talking only about the road?

Thanks for the link silver, Im not sure exactly what the area is called its behind nueva andalucia but is it still nueva andalucia or is it called something else? Nueva Andalucia for those who dont know is what is behind (towards the north) from puerto banus. This area has very few vacant plots left and are very expensive I was hoping by leaving civilisation (the built up area) and heading a bit inland I could get a little plot for a bit cheaper. My idea is to build a little house with scope for expansion for the same price as buying an apartment. Ill try and leave a letter with each of the houses that are in the area. Im sure few others would want to build in the area because the roads are quite inaccesible and they are behind the toll road which will put many off.

I think you are right Silver, if there is a bargain there its for a reason. The Mayors of Marbella Istan and Ojen have been having meetings regarding the conservation of land in Sierra Blanca.

Well let us know how you get on...but these clever ladies are always one step ahead....even if you are talking a few mins drive...now days you have to head north and pass the torcal before prices drop :) and that was pre ave/aerodrome...
