Going rate for villa changeovers?

Postby Wilson25 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 12:21 pm

Anyone employ someone to take care of their villa changeovers between rentals and, if so, what is the going rate including looking after a pool? Thanks in advance.

we employed an agent who charged 150~E to clean, change sheets etc. One time he charged 400E at the tenant left the place like a pig-sty - I believe people advertise in Sur at about 50E a time?

my parents do this as a sideline. if they were going to drive from alhaurin to competa to clean and change sheets and clean the pool it would be 75€ each time. it would probably take 4 to 5 hours, dependant on how dirty it is.

(based on an average 3 bed 2 bath property)

things like cleaning the windows or cutting the grass / gardening would be extra and is charged by the hour.

Thanks everyone for your help. A friends neighbour wants someone to take care of this for them so it's actually me that'd be doing the villa changeover and I'd no idea what to charge. Am meeting her tomorrow so at least I've got some guidelines.

In my area, Los Naranjos, Nueva andalucia, I don't rent as I live there off and on about 4 months of the year, when I'm there I have a local lady who charges me 40€ this is for changing the sheets on 1 double and 2 single beds, she also hoovers the whole house (125 sq m) and mops it, then she puts the dirty laundry in the asher and switches it on, it's my job to remove it from the washer and hang it on the terrace.
She does this once a week if I need extra stuff like ironing etc I pay her 10€ per hour, at xmas she gets her hair done at the local hairdressers and some wine and fags, she's a very nice lady and a treasure I hope to keep her for a very long time.

On the subject of changeovers my neighbour with an identical apartment to me pays 60€ per time, the people who do it are usually there for about 2 hours and there are usually 2 of them.
Ah! the full english!!

it would be €50 if it was local, €25 extra because of the increased travelling time and petrol.

We employ people to service some of our villas when we cant manage them ourselves, ie. peak times and if we are on holiday.

The cost to clean a villa up to 3 bedrooms / two bathrooms is €60, and €10 for any additional bedroom/bathroom.
Laundry is €10 per guest.

Pool cleaning is €20, and garden work €10 / hour.

We use people local to the villas, so there is very little travelling, and most changeovers are on a Saturday.

I've quoted on the basis you've all mentioned so we seem to be sorted. Thanks all.
