Weather
Big thunderstorm here this morning about 7.30 am. When we took the dog out there was hail on the ground yet it did not feel that cold.
Anyone else see hail or snow?

Remember that everything that Fred Astaire did, Ginger Rogers did too; except she did it backwards and wearing high heels!
Up here in Granada Province at the moment it is cold and has been p..p..p.pp.....persistently raining, and I can see some snow on the higher 'big hills'...At the moment, I believe the weather is better in the UK......Still in a few months time we will all be moaning that it is too hot! !
But I still believe that it is a great place to live......Whatever the weather....

We've had 5 friends over from UK for the last week and they've hardly seen the sun. They went home this morning in the middle of a thunder and lightening storm. I felt so bad for them as the weather has been fantastic this year up until last Monday.
Forecast is warmer as the week goes on and sunny 23C at weekend

I was in Stroud yesterday. Yes it was a terrific english spring day. Not been there for 50 years. Thought it was a very pleasant place. Does it come under Cotswolds? On the way back instead of the motor way we went due north thru the village of Slad imortalised in Laurie Lee's Cider with Rosie.Chrissie wrote:

Hi Rick
If I'd known you were in Stroud you could have dropped in and joined the 17 on my patio - we're only about 15 minutes from Stroud! I know Slad and the pub - also knew Laurie Lee, he was a great character and his books are among my favourites.

I thought the 17 was the temperature, not the number of people.
I had my lunch at a cafe, I think it was called "Crumbs" sitting outside opposite a rather imposing building called "The Subscription Rooms" (Why?) It was just like Spain. Heard tell of the weekly Farmers Market and me and SWMBO plan to come and have a look soon.
Yes Rick it WAS the temperature!
Stroud is a lovely town - not too over-prettified like some around here and proud of its industrial heritage. They used to have lots of woollen mills there, including the one that made the red cloth for the army for 300 years! I think there's only one left now. The Farmers Market is supposed to be excellent too! Where are you based in the UK or is that a secret?
Regards
Chrissie
