ESTATE AGENTS, SOLICITORS ETC..WHO DO YOU DISLIKE MOST?

Postby BENIDORM » Thu Apr 05, 2007 4:37 pm

While chatting with some friends the other day, the usual topic about

someone being ripped-off by an estate agent, was heatedly debated, and

this led on to the Top Ten Most Disliked ' Professions', both here in

Andalucia and in UK.....This is how they voted...

no. 1.....Estate Agents....nearly everyone had a bad experience at some

time. Mainly not being told the truth and broken promises of how they

would help, after the sale.

no2.........Solicitors......Not quite as bad as the above , but a close

second...

no3.. Bankers...A lot more people than I expected had 'run ins' with their

banks, overcharging fees etc, not telling all of the 'facts', delays etc.....

no.4...Builders......Again I was surprised how many people were 'bitter'

about the way they had been treated by builders of all nationalities, again

overcharging and 'shoddy ' work...

no5..Motor Mechanics......Absolutely everyone had a horror story about

poor work, overcharging, work charged for that hadn't been carried out..

no..6..Car Salesmen.....My favourite.......So many suffered

from 'dodgy'motors, death traps in some cases.

no7..Plumbers and Electricians, again a lot of overcharging, work carried

out badly, and using poor quality fittings etc..

no8..Double glazing Salesmen/ Time share sales people......Tied here,

both classed as hard sell, high pressure sales who had upset and ripped

off a lot of people.

no 9....Traffic Wardens/ Grua Operators.... tow trucks......Probably more of a UK topic,

but still not liked at all...Stories about unreasonable treatment...etc..

no..10..Police...all nationalities, even included ex members ......Some of

the comments were a bit unfair, but I could see where they were 'coming

from'....

So do you think this is in the right order, and do you have any other

candidates ?

I must add that everyone agreed that there are the exceptions and there

were also some good stories, so perhaps I could do a who you like best

Top Ten...... :?:

My no.1 would be timeshare folk. Agree about all the rest although all the lawyers and solicitors I have used have been ok. just slow and expensive.

Man goes into a bar.
Shouts out "All Solicitors are ****holes"
Man in corner shouts "Oi, I object to that"

First man says "You a solicitor then?"

2nd Man says "No, I'm an ****hole!"

What's the difference between a single human sperm and a lawyer?

The single sperm at least has a one in five million chance of becoming a human being.

Benny
Why do you always have to use double spacing in your posts? As it is I find your posts very long-winded and boring…but with the double spacing it is even shoddier!
If all appears too undersized for you on the screen you could always buy a larger monitor or perhaps time for a visit to the optician?
I don’t believe that the length of a post has anything to do with the interest - actually normally to the contrary.
I really do miss the sharpness of wit (what wit I hear many forum members asking!) and connotation of content in your postings.
Happy Easter to one and all!

Laclotte,
What is up with you ?....You don't know me, but you are

constantly 'having a go'.......You don't have to read what I write, so why

keep picking on me?.....Are you having trouble at home, so possibly you

have to vent your anger at me?..Or are you having a 'bad hair day'?..

I'll write what I like and when I like and how I like....I really don't need

you to tell what I can do and can't do ...You come across as an

arrogant 'show off'....Have a Nice Day.....

My ex mother in law had lots of good expressions

eg

It's no good being the richest man in the cemetery

Shrouds don't have pockets

Another good one was.

If you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing.

Allthough sometimes, I suppose, you just feel you have to speak your mind

Rick...my mother also had lots of 'sayings'. The two that now spring to mind were
"If you don't have anything interesting to say rather say nothing" and
"Empty vessels make the most noise"
Judging by the amount of p.m. I have received apparently a lot of the forum members agree with my mother.
I rest my case!

I think we should all get together
in a great big melting pot
big enough, big enough, big enough to take the world and all it's got
keep on stiring for a hundred years or more
turn out coffee coloured people by the score

Thank you

Are you telling me that members of this forum pm each other, female doging about other members?

Don't have a go at timeshare sellers. I have a hard enough time as it is standing outside Fuengirola train station all day giving out scratch cards and trying to convince people that they have won a prize so we can then subject them to 3 hours of relentless hard selling

Hate timeshare louts, could have decked one in Fuengirola the other day, got stopped as usual near the bus station and when i told him i wasn't interested and that I lived here, his sarcastic reply was " Yea I believe you ".
Good job my partner was with me or it would have gone further.
