HELLO People,
Not been on for a while, been sorting garden out.
weather has been perfect for planting- rain and cool,BUT many plants have been dying, has anyone noticed this.
I live in Jaen Province near Alcaudete, have been reading up on various bugs etc, could it be MOLE CRICKET!!!
Or has an expert out there some advice.
All plants were healthy going in,but less than week later are drooping and dying.
Could it be something in rain or what!!
HELP PLEASE
Elsa-Mary
Help, just spent a fortune on plants!! many dying

plants dying!!
Hi concreteman!
Maybe not,had lots of success growing seeds in Mercadadona polystyrene meat trays, all doing well, but will they start dying as well?
As you know,or maybe not as I now realise you are called concreteman,as was my father,HE LOVED CONCRETE!!
Plants cost a lot of money, and I hate to see anything die!!!
That would include you!! so you see how caring I am

It could be that your planting acid loving plants in an alkali soil.
Our soil has no fiber or vegetable matter / acid in it.
You may need to condition your soil.
Possibility (2)
Someone has used a total weedkiller on the ground at some time and it's still active.
(3) You used a watering can that had weedkiller in it previously.
(4) soil has cement and other building waste in it that is burning the roots.
Solution / experiment
put some plants in pots and a few in the ground next to them.
If the pots flourish and the ones in the ground die, then you have a soil problem.
If they both die then it could be some nasty bug.
If they both do well then your happy.

Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated into the collective
My old Dad used to say, “if you want to be a gardener, you’ve got to be a 'cadger' and if your neighbours can grow it successfully, so can you”.
In other words, go round your neighbours, see what’s doing well in their gardens and ask for a cutting or some seeds or just pick their brains.
Works for me
Good luck
