mugged - again

Postby Lavanda » Sat Oct 27, 2007 8:53 pm

54 years in the UK = never been mugged
2 years in Spain = mugged twice

First time was in Sanlucar de Barrameda in July 2005.
Second time was yesterday in Atocha Railway Station in Madrid.

I never worried about crime in the UK. Even when living in London. I never saw any or was the victim of any. Other than being mugged by the government. The UK crime statistics never scared me ... but I might just start to worry about crime here.

mugging

Hope your OK, i know it can have a bad effect on you, I was mugged one new years eve in Benidorm, that was 29 years ago, and I have been wary ever since, it took me a long time to get over it, they attacked me from behind, hence I spent years imaging it would happen again.

Yes, thank you, I'm fine.

I did get financial redress from the Sanlucar incident. At the time I was on holiday and my holiday insurance paid up - no problem. This time, of course, I'm not on holiday as I live here. I'm not sure the household insurance covers me but in any case the monetry value is small - the aggravation and complication level is high. Oh well ...

PS The Atocha Police were nice but 'world weary' and busy. The Sanlucar Police were also nice but brilliantly on the ball as I was their only case, in, I believe, a long, long time.
