Scooter Insurance

I need to get a bigger scooter for my daily commute to work as I have moved further into the Campo and need something more suited for the longer commute.

The problem I have is that the trade in value of my current scooter makes it not worth selling but better to keep it as a back up in case the new one is out of action or get serviced etc.

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to have buy scooter insurance in Spain that covers a second bike?

I’ve been told that insurance in Spain covers the vehicle and not the rider and I can’t justify getting two policies as one bike is not likely ever to be moved out of the garage for any long period of time.

I certainly don’t want to ride it without insurance!!

Has anyone else had this issue as well?

As far as I know, all vehicle insurance in Spain is for the vehicle not the driver; so two scooters...two policies I'm afraid.
