Who remembers the snowfall here in Spain in January 2005?
Our village, near Motril, Costa Tropical, had not seen a snowfall in all the 82 years of the life of our spanish friend & neighbour...until then!
From our terrace where i´m taking the photo from, on the 3rd piccie, you can normally see the sea straight ahead!
Who remembers the snow...?

vino, sol y aire, y seras rico como nadie
We missed it by days.
It was the January before we moved over permanently (semi-permanently as it's turned out) and spent a lovely week in 25 degree sunshine most days. One of the things we did that week, being a bit thick, was trim some of the plants, including a lovely bougainvillea that was killed by the snow/heavy frosts the following week. Unbelievable and not experienced anything close to it in the (nearly) three years we've been living here.

oh yes, i remember it well. we were visiting family in Adra, and everyone was so shocked to see it one morning!A lot of their plants were killed and 6 young bougainvillea never made it either. The weather was beautiful a few weeks before and again a few weeks after. Quite surreal. a few of the kids playing in it, had only ever seen it on the mountains-they hadnt actually experienced touching it! needless to say, i showed them how to have a snowball fight.

Yep, remember it but for us it was January 2006, it was a month before we moved back to the UK, Canillas de Aceituno only got small covering but it was the first snow fall for over 50 years in the village itself, the January before which was January 2005 the temperatures were into their 20's (Celcius) most days and certainly no snow.
