Anyone got any experience in getting from the Malaga area to the UK using public transport other than air?

Info on costs, times and comfort would be useful.

National Express/Eurolines do coaches it's about a 36 hour journey with 8 stops and two changes of coach in Paris and at a service area north of Madrid.
