The Junta de Andalucía has announced it is considering a new tightening of the anti-smoking restrictions and says that smoking should be banned in all shops and premises less than 100 square metres.
It’s estimated that the measure, if passed, will affect some 9,000 bars and establishments in Málaga province alone where most currently still allow entry to smokers.
The measure was announced on Saturday, World No Tobacco Day, by the Regional Councillor for Health, María Jesús Montero.
The regional government has decided to act despite a reduction in adult male smokers, because latest data shows that young people are smoking more than before. Over the past five years the number of youngsters aged under 18 who smoke has increased by 12%.
Interesting eh?

If this is the case then there will be no smoking anywhere because currently the law is that if you have a bar 100m2 or less then you can chose to allow smoking or not. If you chose to allow smoking then childen are not allowed in the bar. If a bar is more than 100m2 then smoking is not allowed unless you have a specially segregated area.
