Wheelie Bin fines

Postby El Cid » Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:30 am

In the UK there have been many complaints about the size of the fines being meted out for overfilling bins etc.

Our basura area used to look like the reject department of a fridge factory with everything dumped in a huge pile almost blocking the road.

A month ago it was all cleared and a new sign erected. It has been spotless ever since.

I wonder why?

That would do it! Do they have the death penalty in Almuñécar for more serious offences?!
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

How do they get to such an odd figure for the maximum fine? Does that odd 26 centimos on the end really make such a difference

The relevant law is in pesetas. That figure is 25 million pesetas exactly.

What is odd is that they quote 6000 euros when it should be the equivalent of 100.000 pesetas which is 6010.12 euros
