why are there so many awful radio stations around on the coast, a couple are good but the rest have awful presenters especially the ones who over pronounce spanish words. which ones do you like and dislike.
We have quite a new one inland called ace fm they are quite good.

I agree that ace fm isn't bad. I hate to admit to it but I usually have Onda Cero tuned in. The some of presenters drive me mad but the music they play is pretty good background stuff. Also they have a very good range of the 'old sounds' especially at the weekends.

Having said that I have come close to throwing the radio out of the window when yet another batty female starts telling me how to eat the right stuff, live the perfect life or get deep into my inner self

I live in Alhaurin el Grande so you would think that ACE FM would be good. WRONG, I have to change three times before I get to the actual village. KISS FM seems to stay on the scanner a lot longer.

Radio Oro does the same, 105.3 in the Guadalhorce Valley. Far better than any of the English radio stations which really are pretty poor and not worth listening to.

I wish there was a decent one near us.

Is it easy to set a radio station up?

Technically, fairly easy. Legally, a nightmare.

I think if one was set up here and played Spanish and English music and it they could advertise they would make a fortune, thats how it works, isn't it?

We get ace fm quite clearly on the Pizarra side of the Guadalhorce Valley but I still think Onda Cero play the best selection of music. I just do not listen to the 'talk' programmes

Why is it that most of the presenters on local English language radio stations seem have such a limited grasp of the English language?

I accept that people cannot help their sometimes irritating regional accents but I don't have to listen to them on the radio.

 You are so right Beach, their pronunciation is abysmal and their knowledge of British History virtually non existant, but I 'spose it all goes along well with half qualified car mechanics and recently self-promoted brickies' labourers. The coast is full of wannabes, has-beens and even more, never-was's  Caveat Emptor.

Wave FM for me. Great old songs and no presenters.

Well Alan, you joined this forum on my birthday and I´m an Alan too, so maybe I have to agree with you about Wave.
I´m certainly going off REM lately, apart from Barry Mitchell who is very funny on the Breakfast Show. Too much chat otherwise :?
