Latest Residencia form?

Postby pentaqua-new » Mon May 18, 2009 2:05 pm

Going for it this week - neighbours wrapped it all up at Granada within an hour - so taking the plunge. Can we download the latest form and where can I find it?

The application form is here:

http://www.mir.es/SGACAVT/modelos/extra ... /ex_16.pdf

You can either complete it on screen or download it and fill it in by hand.

Edit:
(You beat me to it again Sid)

Yes, but make sure that you apply for the "permanent" residency certificate which you are entitled to do after 5 years as a resident (its a different box on the form). The certificate looks the same but the wording is slightly different.

Thanks Beachcomber and Cid - filling in the forms on-line and printing them off was a dream.

The hardest part of the process was getting to the Policia in Granada - a full 40 minutes from coming off the ring road due to horrendous 'obras' and earely morning traffic.

Residencia process: 20 minutes from entering the Policia to getting the certificate including going to the bank to pay. In fact we Qd longer at BricoDepot. So for those in Granada at least, it should hold no fears now.

Sorry to be a "PITA", but what other documentation do I need to take apart from the application form.
I have had a Residencia card for the last 5 years which has just run out and needs renewing.

Gosh you were lucky ,pentaqua-new.
When I did mine last summer in Granada I was refused the first time as they had handed out all the numbers... and I had arrived at 9a.m.!
I ended up arriving at 6a.m. the following morning to make sure I was able to do it.At least don't have to do it again as it is now permanent!

Does anybody know if they issue the 'tarjeta de residencia' again or do they still issue a piece of paper?

Seems they are falling back into the stone age very soon. Somehow it turns out Spain is developing into one of the weirdest countries in Europe.

Anyway, thanks a ton for the info, so I'll wait a bit longer hoping they'll change the law again until January 2010.

The do actually. You need to be the non EU spouse of an EU citizen and then they will give you a nice shiny plastic card.

Time to get out the Afghan hat and practice your Arabic.
