I think it now tends to be the lightning and the wind that takes out the power.

Yet only at the beginning of this year the heavy rain opened the village fuse boxes and out went everything.

We thought we would have our Christmas meal in the evening this year - bad idea. Power off at 6pm: so onto the woodburner went the leg of lamb, and jacket potatoes were more appealing than none ... nothing has ever tasted that good before, a Christmas meal when you thought there might not be one! Power back on at 9.30, just in time for the washing up ...

If you look at the forecast in a bit more detail, Sunday looks OK and most of Monday but then it's rain again. That forecast gives a chance of rain on both days but it could be rain on Sat/Sun night before it clears and late on Monday after a reasonable day. We will see!

If you look at the 14 day forecast, apart from the 1st and 2nd, it's rain all the way.

Pool level rose 11 cms in last 24 hours. Off to drain some more out!

I have the same problem but I have now connected the pool outlets to our water deposito - free water!

I can't believe how different the weather is in Bilbao to the rest of Spain at the moment
I've just spent 3 days in Madrid. cold, wet and raining.I got back here at 9.00 pm and the temperature is 19C and warm with clear skies
Normally this is the worst place weatherwise to be in Spain

Just spent the last 2 hours talking to a Spanish friend in Avilés, Asturias, and he said much the same, it's been a nice sunny day!

Well, I was due to fly out to Malaga today from Liverpool but as I have a foot of snow (Wakefield) and the weather in Spain does not sound too clever I've decided to cut my losses and not bother.

It's a lottery. Last night the forecast for today was for rain. Reality, lovely blue sky.

It will likely all change later!

Lots of Easyjet flights have been cancelled not just because of the bad weather in the UK but also because their crews are running out of flying hours after being stranded at various airports.
