P3 Closing
P3 Closing
P3 at Malaga airport is due to close on the 15th January with the free bus service ending 2 weeks later. Does anyone have any suggestions for free parking in or around the airport? I know there are many companies who charge about 5 euro per day but I am trying to find something for free as I commute to the UK on a weekly basis. Thanks

Re: P3 Closing
Do you mean the car park is actually closing or just not free anymore? If it is closing what was the point of putting ticket machines at the entrance. If, as I suspect, it is to become a paying car park how are users expected to get to the terminals if there's no 'bus running?

Re: P3 Closing
what did you do before it was free ?
would it not be worth asking about a yearly parking fee at one of the places? its sure to be alot cheaper ?

Re: P3 Closing
The notice says that the car park is closing for good. There will not be any long-stay parking facilities on site. I am only away 2 nights/3 days per week for 40 weeks of the year so an anual pass at one of the off-site parking companies was not financially viable. I was wondering if anyone else parks near the airport (at Plaza Mayor for example) and takes the train or a bus in? and if this is safe etc?

My understanding is that will no longer be free but will be a lower cost option for on-site parking. However my information is about 6 weeks old so this could have changed.
I find it strange that they will close it, as they have installed barriers and extended the number of parking spaces.
No doubt all will be revealed when the new terminal opens!

We have been for a look around and I am going to try parking by Toy's R Us / Macro and then walking in - I will keep you posted if this is a viable option.

According to the T3 website, Car Park 3 is re-opening as a long stay car park mid 2010.
Re: P3 Closing
I have asked at the information desk at the airport and they now say there will not be any long-stay parking on site and to use a private company. Has anyone heard anything different?

Next time we are there we will come and park for free at your place !!
You will only have yourself to blame when your car gets nicked or trashed, and will your insurance pay up if they find out it has been left unattended ?

This appears to be the case as the reference to P3 has been taken off the Website.towella wrote:I have asked at the information desk at the airport and they now say there will not be any long-stay parking on site and to use a private company. Has anyone heard anything different?
Re: P3 Closing
I now use one of the local long term parking places of which there are numerous around from 5 euros per day, where the car is much safer, look at the many posts on this site refering to it, I use Easy Parking on the road into airport and have always found them to be very good. Pity about P3 it was the best thing about the airport for years !! Is the free circular bus still running ???
