Postby spanish_lad » Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:11 pm

I think you will find that the Estate Agents in Nerja are 'finding agents' and some of them work together. We wanted to put our place up for sale to buy something bigger and spent a long time in the winter visiting numerous agents. We found Key Homes Spain in Nerja helpful and truthful. He is not English but speaks English fluently he was educated in Nerja so knows the area and a lot of people and is experienced. I have no connection with them but having been in Financial Services ourselves for over 40 years you have your suspicions and we definitely had suspicions about some of the agents in Nerja. Our dream was a finca but having heard and read about approach roads being washed away and gardens being lost down the hillside we are glad we changed our minds. Good luck

We've been keeping our eye on the market around this area for some years and it always seems to be the same old properties for sale. We did ask about a couple of old cortijos a few years back (they are still for sale) but they were very over-priced with no electricity or water and the access to one was awful. With all the question-marks over whether you can even reform or extend a cortijo, we have more or less given up. I recently asked a local agent about a couple that have been on their books for years but was told that they have problems with the paperwork and one was really isoloated down a long and poorly maintained track. Why are they still on their books at all, I wonder :eh: ? If a real bargain came up for sale in this area we may go to look at it but I'm not sure I could stand the stress of actually buying anything and grappling with all the paperwork  . We really need to move but I can't even find anything else suitable to rent around here, so good luck SL!!

Julie, didn´t you get inundated with e-mails from loads of different property agents if you made an enquiry on kyero?

There is one by us and has been empty for a while and I think it is going very cheap but don't know who the agent is. It is near Pizarra but in the campo. The area is wondeful and there are two english families right near
