DOOMERS
Those that are involved in the Spanish Property market will appreciate that things may not be to good at the moment
The Euro issue and the corruption in Spain is well highlighted almost everywhere you look. Not withstanding the fact that the same or worse is happening in many other countries its always Spain the hit’s the news .Why ? Because Spain sell news.
Brits in particular are attracted to bad news and here is one for the doomers.
The Euro against the Pound was looking at one point to be going to near par.
It was said that this would be the death of the Spanish /Brit relationship as we couldn’t afford to live/buy in Spain or even have a holiday there.
Its made for many front page news and every single doomer has had a field day.
The rate is now around 1.20. Now the doomers say well it not 1.50 like it used to be and it will make no difference it the trend goes towards that figure.
Example if the exchange rate were 1.50 tomorrow the doomer would say
well it will be back to 1.10 in the next month or they would say that selling their property is now more difficult because converting back to sterling takes an advantage away.
Cant they see that hundreds of thousands of Brits may then return to the merkat property prices may stabilize and Brits can afford to stay permanent and holiday in Spain.
Spain is in the spotlights and it will be up to them how they clean up its act.
My point is that no matter how Spain is portrayed in particular any positive news will never be heard and those that is heard the doomers and so called experts will have either tried to stifle it or reports 6 months or a year down the line.
My question is what is good news for the doomers as either way everything regarding Spain is and will always be a gloomy outlook.

Re: Doomers
I work in the Real Estate market and there is good news, This last 6 weeks we have been touring clients (quiet a few as well) people are looking again. We have also sold 6 properties in the last 6 weeks with 1 cash buyer already having gone to completion, the others are in the process. So don´t listen to everything you here n the news. Marbella and the Costa del Sol has a great lifestyle that people like and want. All the signs are good, well at least for Marbella.
Oh Yes! another day in paradise!

Quite agree with you...my estate agent friend has been run off his feet and hired more staff to cope. He has been extremely busy for the past 4 months.
A German friend jokingly tells me that his fellow countrymen are buying up in droves and taking over where the Brits left off and there is certainly something in what he says. It's not all doom and gloom.

Hang on Guys
In a moment you will be accused of talking the market up.
An agent that says things are picking up is a primer.
Somewhere there is good news. Would be great if we could hear more of it if for no other reason it keeps us sane.
