Ah well, downed 5 bottles of it whilst being forced to watch Doc Martin against the background noise of a mosnoon style downpour battering the bay windows .
I'll give San Miguel a miss in the UK from now on when this lot's gone, as it is just not the same as I remember it in some back street sun drenched bar in Velez...........happy days
Stupid really because if they sell Mahou I go for that anyway

Talking about ice tasting different, I was justing reading about a guy that travels regularly to Northern Spain, and always stops in the same bar for a Jack Daniel's and ice. It's his favourite because they make the ice with Evian water.concorde wrote: Yes, it definitely tastes different in Spain, possibly the ice cubes
En esta taberna sirven el mejor Jack Daniel´s de toda la Provincia – me susurró don Braulio al oído.
- ¿Y qué tiene de especial este Jack Daniel´s? – pregunté.
- Los hielos. Aquí los hacen con agua Evian.

Good shout Yep, I get the Spanish Coke in the small traditional bottles over there.........lovely stuff, never touch the cans back here, again completely different taste but I put that down to the bottle which you struggle to get in the UK....either plastic or cans

Wish I'd shares in Coke and Whisky, the amount they drink in Spain it really is phenomenal.
Still, seeing they only get about 10 measures out of each bottle compared to our 26 I'm not surprised!

I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire.

My son-in-law says the Spanish San Miguel has more alcohol than the U.K. one. We have all had a beautiful salad lunch on our little terrace, followed by a fresh fruit salad.........and lots of San Miguel!

Don't get me started on the difference between bland, ordinary Budweiser, and the real Czech-brewed stuff!

Nor me (and other people I know) on Stella brewed under licence in the UK as opposed to elsewhere.

One ingredient that will differ is the yeast.
Breweries will use the same yeast over and over again, and as a living organism it will change over time.
Two breweries could share an original batch of yeast and start brewing with it - over time the strains of yeast in each brewery would have different characteristics.
