"He did say he had two visits today from the police, and they told him it was now ' on the cards' to visit the pubs everyday, at different times"
at least that should boost trade a bit !

it is strange when you think that a smoker can buy his own local with his own money, open his own bar to work in himself, he can sell cigarettes in the bar, but he is not allowed to let anyone smoke the cigarettes he has legally sold to them in the bar he owns and works in.....

No different to buying a house and not being able to get mains supplies to it due to the corrupt officials and appalling Junta...........

You can buy a house with your own money, pay all the taxes and not get to live in it let alone enjoy it as you have no utilities connected.

ah, smoke comes out the chimney of an illegal house and smoke comes out of a legal cigarette..got it now.

I see Almeria is so far top of the league as the province with most denuncias to police about smoking in bars from the general public. you havn´t been posting much over the last couple of days, have you been away?

No problems around here , all smoking outside & you can fire a shotgun inside the bars without hitting anyone ! The problem will come in the warmer weather when the non-smokers will be moaning that they can't sit in the sun. Can't have it always. Really , to be even-handed & non-discriminatory , they should be fining non-smokers who are in the smoking areas. that'll cut the deficit !

I wanted to wait until I had been out to a bar before I gave my tuppence worth. I have just got back from being in two bars while watching The Bilbao-Barcelona football match. Both places full and nobody smoking inside them.
How nice it is to come back home not reeking of smoke. Pity Bilbao went out of the cup though

I predict that personal income tax, fuel duty and IVA will rise significantly in 30 years to compensate for loss of tobacco duty. Won't you non-smokers be unhappy then having to pay extra, ha, ha ,ha!!!!

Julian would predict (and I wouldn't wholly disagree with him) that no-one anywhere will be paying tax after 21st December 2012.

Where on earth did this rediculous prediction of Julian's come from?

Some guru somewhere that no one has ever heard of?

Or is it just something invented by Julian so he has an excuse to slip it in on every topic going?

Or is this just some sort of weird sense of humour????

Answers please.
