Daily limit at ATMs?

Postby concorde » Tue Jan 11, 2011 10:45 pm

Is there a daily limit on debit card withdrawals at Spanish ATM.s

When I used to use my Nationwide card there was but I'm not sure if the Nationwide set the limit or the actual Spanish bank did. I'm sure the limit at one bank was 300e but at another was 350e

I'm looking at a prepaid mastercard and this is what they replied

There is a fraud limit of no more than 3 ATM withdrawals per day and 10
ATM withdrawals over 4 days for the Euro and Dollar card. For the
Sterling Anywhere card it is 6 ATM withdrawals over 4 days.

The maximum that can be withdrawn from an ATM are;
* STERLING FairFX Currency Card, maximum is £500 per day.
*USD FairFX Currency Card, maximum is $1,000 per day.
*EURO FairFX Currency Card, maximum is €1,000 per day.

Every ATM has its own limit as well, so it is really down to the
specific ATM, as to how much you can withdraw in one go.

I've tried on the web looking for La Caixa as this is the one I usually use but can't find anything.

I use my nationwide flexi card, some allow 300 euros and other atm allow the equilant of 300 pounds, must depend on the bank.

I'm with La Caixa & my limits are 600€ a day, 1800€ a week or 3000€ a month. I was being lazy, years ago & drawing large amounts using the card until one day it stopped working . When I went into the bank they explained the above limits & that it's a rolling month ( 30 day period ) , not a calendar month. They also told me that they could set the limits at what I wanted or even remove them altogether , although they didn't advise it.

Thanks for that gus, by your figures I'm wondering if that daily amount is made up of 2 withdrawals of 300e each?

No I can draw a maximum of 500€ a time from the machine . I think this is quite common in a lot of banks as I was in another bank the other day & the sign inside said ' amounts of 500€ or less , only from the machine'. I don't think there's a limit on how many transactions from the machine each day.

Thanks for that reply Gus,
I'll check it out next time we are over. I'm not saying we will withdraw that amount but it's good to know the options.
